A new Board and a new Council member for the SOS Children's Villages Latvia

At the end of March, the annual General Assembly and Council meeting of the SOS Children's Villages Association Latvia took place. During the meeting, participants reviewed the achievements of the past year, approved the 2024 report, and elected a new Council member, the Chairperson of the Board, and Board members.

We are pleased to announce that Evija Šturca has joined the Council of the SOS Children's Villages Latvia. She has more than 20 years of experience in business consulting at international consulting firms, specializing in strategy and operational improvement, sustainability, finance, and risk advisory. Evija aims to contribute to Latvian society by sharing her expertise, which can support the development of the SOS Children's Villages Association Latvia, ensuring help reaches those in need.

At the same time, we express our sincere gratitude to Daiga Eiduka for her contributions to the association’s work as a Council member. Over the years, she has actively worked to ensure that children grow up in a safe, loving environment and strong families.

Currently, the Council of the SOS Children's Villages Association Latvia consists of Chairman Kārlis Danēvičs and members Baiba Zūzena, Evija Šturca, Veronika Kima-Zeile, Aivars Osītis, Ivars Grunte, and Simon Boddy, as well as honorary members Ingrīda Meierovica and Māra Bite.

Ilze Paleja, who previously served as a Board member, has been elected as the Chairperson of the Board. The association’s Chief Accountant, Lilija Peihele, and the Director of Family Strengthening, Agnese Igaune, have been appointed as Board members.
