About SOS Children's Villages
SOS Children's Villages is a charitable organization committed to providing a loving family environment for children who have lost the nurturing care of their biological parents. We support foster families, guardians, and adopters, and offer assistance to families facing various life challenges. We firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to grow up in a caring family setting.
Our Impact
Currently, we are nurturing one hundred and twenty children and young people in our two SOS Children's Villages located in Īslīce and Valmiera, as well as in various SOS youth homes. While many of our SOS families reside within these villages, others are spread across Iecava, Valmiera, Valka, and Bauska.
Our SOS family support centers extend their helping hands to over 1,200 children across Latvia annually. Through years of dedicated service, we've recognized the vital importance of supporting families facing social risks. By empowering these families to better care for their children, we aim to prevent the heart-wrenching need for children to be separated from their parents and placed in alternative care.
